Privacy Policy - FizziQ app
FizziQ is a free educational app with no advertising, published by FizziQLabs, formerly trapeze.digital (Christophe Chazot, Versailles, France). It is designed to work without an account and without collecting any personal data: no name, no email address and no login credentials are ever requested.
Your measurements and notebooks stay on your device
The measurements taken with the sensors, your experiment notebooks, and the photos and text you add to them are stored only on your device. They are never transmitted to the publisher. They leave the device only when you decide to share them: PDF or CSV export, file sharing, QR code, or live sharing (see below). Uninstalling the app erases this data.
The permissions requested (microphone, camera, location, Bluetooth, photos) are used exclusively by the corresponding measuring instruments (sound level meter, colorimeter, GPS, external sensors…). The captured signals are processed locally, on the device.
Anonymous usage statistics
To know how many people use FizziQ, in which countries, and which features are used, the app sends statistics to Google Analytics for Firebase:
- a technical identifier tied to the installation (it cannot identify you and is deleted with the app);
- the device model, operating system and language;
- an approximate, city-level location derived from the IP address;
- the screens viewed and usage events (for example: "a recording was made", "a PDF export was performed"), never including the content of your measurements or notebooks.
The phone's advertising identifier (IDFA/AAID) is not collected. These statistics are never sold, shared or combined with other services; they are used for no profiling and no advertising, and are retained by Google Analytics for a limited period.
AskFizziQ assistant
When you ask the AskFizziQ assistant a question, your question - and, only if you explicitly attach them, the data of the observations concerned - is sent to the selected artificial-intelligence provider (OpenAI or Mistral) to generate the answer. These requests are not used by those providers to train their models (professional API terms). The app blocks questions containing identifying numbers (phone, card, date of birth); nevertheless, avoid writing personal information in them. This feature requires an internet connection and is only active when you use it.
Live sharing
Live sharing (beta) transmits, only while you have it switched on, the measured values to a session identified by a random code, hosted on Firebase (Google), so they can be displayed in FizziQ Web. No personal data is involved: only the values, the instrument and an anonymous technical identifier. The session ends as soon as you stop it and its content is not retained.
Children and school use
FizziQ is used in classrooms, including by minors. This is precisely why it requires no account, collects no personal data, shows no advertising and uses no advertising identifier.
Your rights and contact
The statistics described above are pseudonymous: we cannot link them to a person, and therefore cannot extract "your" data. Your measurement data belongs to you and remains under your control on your device.
